Ledford
HORTENSE — Mrs. Azalee Griffin Ledford, 85, of Hortense, died Thursday afternoon, October 30, 2025, at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a brief illness.
She was born in Brantley County to the late Theodore Griffin and Clara Lee Griffin. Mrs. Ledford lived in Atlanta and Jacksonville, Fla., before moving back home with her husband in 1999. She worked as a secretary for Spatola Shoe Factory in Waycross, Laboratory Technician for Rayonier in Jesup, and owned and operated an Arts and Crafts Store in Atlanta. She was a member of the Salt House Worship Center in Hortense.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Joseph Ledford.
Mrs. Ledford is survived by two sons, Joseph Kevin Ledford (Karen) of Darien, Ga., Donald Kris Ledford (Donna) of St. Augustine Fla.; five grandchildren, Lauren Boston (Cody), Lindsey Thomas (Blake), Rebecca Ledord, Leah Ledford, Nikki Adler; three great grandchildren, Bryce Thomas, Liam Boston, Ella Boston; one sister, Latrelle Willis of Dublin, Ga.; one brother, Roger Griffin (Joy) of Acworth, Ga., and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 8, in the MilesOdum Funeral Home Chapel. A burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A luncheon will be served following the graveside service.
