UNDATED — Mrs. Sandra Dean Davis, 78, passed away Sunday night, October 26, 2025 at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., after a sudden illness.
Born February 26, 1947 in Jesup to the late Mack Drury and Bernice Rowell Waters, Mrs. Davis was raised in Brantley County where she graduated from Nahunta High School.
Many may remember her from her delicious cooking served at the Snack Shack in the 1970s, as well as being a helpful assistant at JC Penny’s. If asked, Mrs. Davis would proudly want to be remembered first as a devoted and loving wife, mother, nana, and homemaker.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Whatever her outside pursuits were, they always took a back seat when it came to her family. Mrs. Davis is fondly remembered for her eye for design and décor, her green thumb with plants, love of antiques and garage sale finds, and mouthwatering meals, including her famous sloppy Joe’s and Christmas morning doughnuts.
Friends and family will remember her for her classic beauty, positive outlook, generous heart, and infectious laugh.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Adolph Davis; brother, Danny Drury; and grandson, Chase Brauda.
The proud matriarch of a lively family, Mrs. Davis is survived by children, Joni Rowe (husband Brian), Deana Wilson (husband Donald), Leslie Brauda (wife Andrea) and Chad Brauda (wife Susan); grandchildren, Kalen Barber (husband David), April Brauda, Morgan Adams (husband Ryan), Ethan Rowe and Seth Beale; great grandchildren, Zoey Yarbrough (husband Ty), Gage Vaught, Colsen Adams and baby girl Adams, due May 2026; great-great grandchild, Emmaline Yarbrough; sister-in-law, Barbara Drury; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service was held Thursday, October 30 at Music Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a favorite charity.
Sympathy may be expressed by posting to her tribute wall at www.musicfuneralhome.
