Azalee Griffin Ledford

HORTENSE — Mrs. Azalee Griffin Ledford, 85 of Hortense, died Thursday afternoon, October 30, 20225 at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a brief illness.

She was born in Brantley County to the late Theodore Griffin and Clara Lee Griffin. Mrs. Ledford lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida, before moving see OBITS, Page 5 back home with her husband in 1999.

She worked as a secretary for Spatola Shoe Factory in Waycross, Laboratory Technician for Rayonier in Jesup, and owned and operated an Arts and Crafts Store in Atlanta. Mrs. Ledford was a member of the Salt House Worship Center in Hortense.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Joseph Ledford.

Mrs. Ledford is survived by two sons, Joseph Kevin Ledford (Karen) of Darien and Donald Kris Ledford (Donna) of St. Augustine, Fla.; five grandchildren, Lauren Boston (Cody), Lindsey Thomas (Blake), Rebecca Ledord, Leah Ledford, Nikki Adler; three great grandchildren, Bryce Thomas, Liam Boston and Ella Boston; one sister, Latrelle Willis of Dublin, Ga.; one brother, Roger Griffin (Joy) of Acworth, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m.

A luncheon will be served following the graveside service.
