UNDATED — Larry Daniel Dowling, Sr., 68 years old, went to be with our Lord October 15, 2025.
Dowling was born June 1, 1957 in Jesup to Von “Jiggs” Dowling and Mavis Hutchison Dowling.
H e worked on and drove semi’s most of his life. Dowling operated the transport company “Dowling Enterprises ” for several years before starting Larry’s Diesel & Tire Service.
Dowling married Thelma Daley, the love of his life, December 23, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Alton Dowling; and two sisters-in-law, Lucy Daley Dowling and Kaye Dowling.
Dowling is survived by his wife Thelma Daley Dowling; two sons, Larry Daniel Dowling, Jr., and Brandon Dowling (Kara); two grandchildren, Brandon, Jr. and Lanie; a daughter, Stephanie Pinard (Gary); a granddaughter, Jessica Donaldson (Adam); three great grandchildren, Cohen, Avery and Anna; five siblings, Allen Dowling, June Benefield (Sidney), Acie Dowling (Sybil), Jimmy Dowling (Denise) and Cathy Aker-Dowling (Duncan); a sister-in-law, Saundra Dowling; along with several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held Saturday October 25, 2025 at Pierce Chapel United Methodist Cemetery in Schlatterville.
Family First Funeral Care & Cremation Center of Savannah was in charge of arrangements.
