Honored for achievement

Sharpe honored for achievement

The Georgia Tech Alumni Association has announced its 2025 class of 40 Under 40, honoring alumni who are making bold achievements, shaping the world, and leaving lasting legacies.

Among this dist inguished group is Dr. J. Danielle Sharpe, a 2011 graduate of Ware County High School.

Dr. Sharpe is an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, addressing epidemics globally and advancing research on health equity.

As a CDC Epidemic Intelligence Officer, she strengthened HIV programs across sub-Saharan Africa. During the COVID-Sharpe 19 pandemic, she directed the CDC's Social Vulnerability Index program to equitably allocate health resources nationwide.

Dr. Sharpe is the daughter of Everett and Jewell Sharpe of Waycross, and the granddaughter of Joyce Skipper of Baxley, GA, Lucille Jones of Lyons, GA, and Jimmy Lee Sharpe of Reidsville, GA. The Georgia Tech Alumni Association describes the honorees as “exceptional Jackets who are doing the impossible and building brilliant legacies.”
