Special to The Beacon CALLAHAN — Brantley County’s Showteam finished off a special week here at the Northeast Florida Fair.
The Showteam captured nine buckles and numerous banners at the event.
RayLand Justice placed first in Market Class and in Junior Showmanship. Adeline Crews captured first in Market Class and was named Grand Champion market hog. She was second in Showmanship.
Garrison Sears copped top honors in the PeeWee Showmanship. Evan Story was tabbed Market Class Reserve champion. He placed second in Intermediate Showmanship.
Emersynn Sears placed third in Junior Showmanship and third in Market Class. Tuff Lowther was third in Market Class and sixth in Junior Showmanship.
Ava McMillan, representing Brantley County FFA, claimed firstin class and Reserve Champion showman in Senior Showmanship.
Prior to the Florida event, Brantley County’s 4-H Livestock team captured a couple of first-place ribbons and a lot of Top 10 performances at the Georgia National Fair in Perry.
“Our 4-H exhibitors did an outstanding job representing our county,” said Crista Graham, UGA Extension/4-H program assistant. “We are so proud of each of them for all the hard work and d dedication they pour into their livestock projects. Congratulations to each of them.”
Garrison Sears, competing in the 1st/2nd grade division, placed first in the Hampshire barrow category at the Georgia National Fair. Emersynn Sears had the Reserve Champion Spot Gilt in the 3rd/4th grade division.
Adeline Crews was the winner of the Berkshire category in the 3rd/4th grade division.

Tuff Lowther was fifth in the barrow category, seventh in breeding gilt, ninth with Yorkshire barrow and 10th with market gilt.
Garrison Sears was second in 1st/2nd grade Showmanship and fifth in the Duroc gilt division.
Emersynn Sears placed second in dark cross gilt, fifth in 3rd/4th grade Showmanship and eighth in market gilt.
Evan Story received honorable mention in the 6th-grade division. Adeline Crews placed 10th in 3rd/4th grade Showmanship.
RayLand Justice was runner-up in spot gilt, seventh in both dark cross gilt and Duroc barrow, and ninth in dark cross barrow.
