Naomi Moore Middleton

Naomi Moore Middleton, 89, of Pierce County, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness.
Born April 16, 1936, in Ware County, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso Moore and Lucy Lee Moore. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working for Memorial Hospital, Dr. Floyd Davis and Baptist Village Retirement Communities. She also gave her time generously as a volunteer “Pink Lady” at the Pierce County Nursing Home.
A woman of strong faith, she was a member of New Life Church. In her early years, she found joy in sewing and ceramics. Later in life, she took pride in tending to her yard and flower beds, always staying active and involved.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell Taylor Sr.; her children, Cheryl Diane Taylor, Darrell Taylor Jr., Doug Middleton, Rodney Middleton and Melba Moore; two grandchildren, Jason Hampton and Samantha Sports and seven sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Tracy G. Middleton, Blackshear; her children, Mary Janice Welch, Sandra T. Sports (Frank) and Tracy E. Middleton, all of Blackshear; grandchildren, Leslie Welch (Dana), Jessica Burkhardt (Bill), Sam Sports (Erica), Taylor Sports (Maddie), Clay Middleton (Colleen), Austin Middleton (Rebecca), Chase Middleton (Sidney), Donnie Howell, Shawn Spates, Brandi Day, Melanie Tatum, Tristan Middleton, Alex Middleton and Peyton Middleton; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Juanita Edwards, Joyce Gill and Alice Taylor; brother-in-law, Glenn Taylor and numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished relatives.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, from the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Ware County.
