The city’s fall cleanup campaign has started and will continue through early next month with a refuse trailer rotating through a handful of locations.
This week, the receptacle is in the Garlington Park area, 1501 Georgia Street, through Sunday, October 19. The campaign began October 5 with the dumpster in Elizabeth Park.
The remainder of the schedule has stops at:
• EE. Moore Park, 906 Tommie Kennedy Circle, October 20-26; Grove No
• Waycross Dog Park, 1507 Street, October 27-November 2;
• Monroe Park, 1211 Hill Street, vember 3-9.
Citizens don’t need to wait until the dumpster is in the area of their residence to household refuse in a container. The receptacle, regardless of location, will be open to any resident or property owner during the campaign. There is no limit on the number of times citizens can deposit items. Among the prohibited items in the collection are tires, containers of paint, solvents, chemicals or pesticides, building materials, tree removal debris, bricks or blocks.
The receptacle will be available until its filled, and then returned to the designated site after it’s contents are dumped.
The city stressed items should not be left the ground.
If the container is full or waiting to be dumped, citizens are asked to return with their refuse when the dumpster is empty.
The city’s regular weekly collection schedule for yard waste and household items continues during the campaign. Household refuse picked up at a residence requires a call to the public works department (912) 2872955 to schedule a time for the pickup.
