WAYCROSS — Marcia Bashlor Braddock, 69, of Waycross passed peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah after a short illness.

Born in Savannah to the late Hubert Bashlor and Mildred Strickland Bashlor, Ms. Bradd ock spent her life creati n g beauty in all she touched. She made Waycross her home for many years, where she raised her family, cared for her plants, and surrounded herself with the scent of something always blooming.

Ms. Braddock had a gentle and creative spirit. She found joy in nurturing her plants and crafting with her hands-creating woodwork, soaps, ornaments, and other handmade treasures that reflected her love for nature and simple beauty.

She especially loved making things for others, sharing her creativity through thoughtful gifts and crafts that brightened the lives of those around her. An animal lover at heart, she extended kindness and care to every living thing.

Above all, Ms. Braddock’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt — ̶ her love lived in the things she made and the lives she touched. Her legacy lives on in the care she gave, the crafts she created, and the hearts she helped grow.

She is survived by her three children, Hope Walker of Sitka, Alaska; Christy Williams (Brad) of Blackshear; and Michael Braddock of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Lily, Kami, Layla, Annabelle, Logan, and Laine; and four siblings, Wayne Bashlor (Glenda) of Waycross, Ronnie Bashlor (Sandra) of Lakeland, Fla., Bobby Bashlor (Dyna) of Lakeland, and Cindi Carter, wife of the late Keith Carter of Dublin.

She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Will Bashlor (Stacy), B.J. Bashlor, Ceci Bashlor, Kathy Bashlor, Sheri Bashlor, Josh Carter, Matthew Carter, and Issac Bashlor, as well as her cherished great nieces and great nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her beloved great nephew, Landon Bashlor, whom she adored deeply, and by Mike Braddock, her former husband and the father of her children. She joins their spirits now in eternal peace.

“And when you finally fly away, I’ll be hoping that I served you well. For all the wisdom of a lifetime no one can ever tell. But whatever road you choose, I’m right behind you … Forever Young.”
