Cleghorn
MADISON, Ga. — Mrs. Winnie Ruth Cleghorn, 89, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation, following a short illness.
She was born in Turner County to the late Rufus M. Fletcher and Jessie Ruth Hickman Fletcher. Mrs. Cleghorn was employed for many years as a dietician with the Waycross Board of Education before later retiring from the Waycross Regional Youth Detention Center. She was a member of Deenwood Baptist Church and the Baptist Village Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dan Clinton Cleghorn; and four siblings, Ennis Fletcher, Elias Fletcher, Florence Fletcher, and Herman Fletcher.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Taylor, Cathy Stone (Eddie), and Cindy Cleghorn, all of Madison; one granddaughter, Erin Stone Duvall (Robby) of Greensboro, Ga.; one great grandchild, Peyton Duvall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 14 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
