Dr. Jennifer Weaver has been named Chief Nursing Officer at Memorial Satilla Health, Chief Executive Officer Damon Barrett announced this week.
“Jen has proven herself as a true nursing champion by helping drive nursing strategies focused on people, service and quality,” Barrett said. “She has been successful in building solid relationships with clinical staff which has helped to drive culture and overall camaraderie of the nursing teams she leads.”
Dr. Weaver comes to MSH from HCA Florida Palms West Hospital in Palm Beach County where she served as an assistant CNO for two years.
“I’m honored to be joining this incredible team,” said Dr. Weaver, who began her duties in Waycross October 6. “To be entrusted with shaping the future of nursing care here is a tremendous privilege, and I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and work alongside such talented and compassionate professionals.”
While in Florida, Dr. Weaver was key in reducing nursing turnover to 6.89 percent while also boosting nursing engagement and patient experience scores. She also oversaw a 62 percent reduction in healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) while at Palms West Hospital.
Dr. Weaver joined Palms West Hospital after spending two years as the ACNO of HCA Florida JFK Hospital, where she provided clinical and operational oversight for a 516-bed facility.
She holds a doctorate of nursing practice, a master’s of science in nursing education, and a bachelor of science in nursing. The administrator also is certified in executive nursing practice and (CENP).
