STATESBORO — Ware County’s cross-country teams participated in the 7th Mile Farm Invitational here Thursday hosted by Southeast Bulloch.
The Lady Gators placed 10th in the 10-team girls’ meet finishing with 293 points. Savannah Arts Academy ran away from the field netting 27 points with four finishers in the top five spots.
Finishing between the Lady Panthers and Ware County were Islands of Savannah (88), Savannah Christian (95), South Effingham (96), Statesboro (106), host SEB (108), Trinity Christian of Statesboro (187), Pinewood Christian (210) and Metter (235).
Alaya McMillen topped the Lady Gators placing 71st in the field of 97 runners with a time of 29:21. The winning mark was 20:14.
McMillen was followed by Millie Bennett (72nd; 29:34), Faith Williams (80th; 32:05), Bronwyn Bennett (88th; 35:33) and Ah’Zion Smith (96th; 40:53).
The Gators posted an eighth-place finish in the 14-team boys’ meet. Savannah Arts Academy made it a clean sweep finishing first with 50 points.
The Panthers were followed by Southeast Bulloch (68), Effingham County (91), Savannah Christian (127), South Effingham (139), Statesboro (168), Trinity Christian (171), Ware County (173), First Presbyterian Christian Academy (198), Islands (240), Groves (307), Burke County (358), Metter (416) and Pinewood Christian (438).
Brayten Hood led 13 teammates to the finish line finishing 20th in the field of 174 runners with a time of 19:59.50. The winning time was 17:13.
Hood was followed by Brock Payne (24th; 20:16.50), Wesley Frye (38th; 21:04), Lorenzo Harris (48th; 21:32.90) and Damari Bennett (49th; 21:35.70) for the team score.
Also competing were Giovanni Solorio (56th; 21:49), Silas Mixon (60th; 21:55.30), Ashton Stormant (84th; 23:01), Seth King (111th; 24:34.30), Jax Yarger (120th; 25:40.50), Colton Landrum (164th; 31:54.10), Antwan Baker (169th; 33:16.30), Zalereon Baker (171st; 38:05.70) and Jameson Addison (173rd; 39:46.10).
