A Pierce County Jury deliberated just 27 minutes before returning a guilty verdict in a child molestation case.

The trial of Alisa Mobley took place in Pierce County Superior Court last Wednesday. Mobley was found guilty of rape, incest and cruelty to children.

Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Kight sentenced her to life in prison on the rape charge, 50 years in prison with 49 to serve on the incest charge and 20 years in prison on the child cruelty charges.

Assistant District Attorney Mark Anthony prosecuted the case on behalf of the state, while Mobley was represented by defense attorney Jim McGee. Mobley took the stand in her own defense.

Mobley and her husband, Robert Michael Mobley, were both convicted in the case.

Mr. Mobley plead guilty earlier this month before his case went to trial.

Mr. Mobley was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole plus 50 years in prison for rape, incest, aggravated child molestation and child molestation.

Judge Kight said during Mr. Mobley’s sentencing that the case is “one of the worst — if not the worst” — cases of child molestation he had witn essed during his career as a judge.

The Mobleys were arrested in connection to the case in November, 2023.

The Mobleys are accused of molesting three family members, all under the age of 12, over a period of at least a year.

During the early plea, Mr. Mobley pled guilty to nine counts of the original 14 count indictment returned by the Pierce County Grand Jury.

Mobley pled guilty to four counts of incest and three counts of aggravated child molestation and one count each of rape and child molestation.

Mobley will be required to serve at least 30 years confinement as a condition of the plea before he is eligible for parole.
