The Okefenokee Heritage Center held its annual Judge Ben Smith Juried Art Competition show earlier this month.
More than 60 entrants were judged in the categories of painting, photography, three dimensional, and drawing.
Winners in those divisions were Jorah Mitchell, Michael Butler, Debra Denton, and Chris Janes, who also earned a runner-up in 3D.
The show also drew a host of spectators to the center’s facility to view the creations.
The full list of honorees and their works in each category were:
• Painting — 1. Mitchell “Nocturne in Amber;” 2. Rachel Settle “Fall Pumpkins;” 3. Susan Newman “Hidden Paradise;” Honorable Mention, Coutiea Muchison “I Am Malkia.”
• Photography — 1. Butler “Ancient Skies;” 2. Susan Lutz “Golden;” 3. Allen Allnoch “Summertime Blues;” Honorable Mention, Scott Beahan “Arches.”
• 3D — 1. Denton “Bickley Gator;” 2. Chris Janes “Sunset;” 3. Marie Brewer “Scrappy Blue Heron;” Honorable Mention, Bob Brown “OHC Folk Festival Drum & Fife.”
• Drawing — 1. Janes “AZURE;” 2. Katie Leggett “Deep Into the Forest;” 3. Jimmy Smith “The King & I;” Honorable Mention, Diane Brown “Church Lady.”
