Mary Logan ‘Dot’ Thomas

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mrs. Mary Logan “Dot” Thomas, 84, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., following a brief illness.

Born in Waycross, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Logan and Lola Anna De-Loach Logan. A devoted homemaker for most of her life, Mrs. Thomas was baptized at Hoboken Baptist Church. She enjoyed trips to the beach and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and University of Georgia Bulldogs. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Hugh Davis “Cotton” Thomas, and seven siblings, Louise Pope, Wesley Logan, Donald Logan, Glenn Logan, Lois Anderson, Albert Logan, and Matt Coulter.

Survivors include her three daughters, Cindy Thomas Clark (Mark) of Brunswick, Lynn Thomas (Kirby Hanchey) of Hoboken, and Marla Thomas (Bruce McCullough) of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Annah Ham of Brunswick, Evan Baker of Blackshear, and Silas Baker of Hoboken; two sisters, Ruby Thanscheidt of Folkston and Ruth Hill of Waycross; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 2 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hoboken City Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
