NAHUNTA – Flu season is right around the corner!
The Brantley County Health Department (173 Florida Avenue, Nahunta, GA 31553) will host a drive-thru flu vaccination clinic Thursday, October 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a brief closure for lunch from 12 p.m.1 p.m.. This event offers residents a safe, quick, and convenient way to protect themselves and their loved ones from the flu this season.
“Getting your flu shot is one of the best ways to keep yourself, your family, and your community healthy,” said Synita Mathis, Immunization Coordinator for the Southeast Health District. “Our drive-thru/drive-up clinics make it easier than ever to roll up your sleeve without even leaving your car.”
A yearly flu vaccine is the first line of defense against the flu and is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for everyone age six months and older.
Vaccination is especially important for certain highrisk groups, including young children, pregnant women, adults aged 65-and-older, and individuals with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes,or heart disease).
If you are unable to make it to the clinic Thursday, don’t worry. Immunizations are available as a walk-in service at all health departments within the district.
We kindly ask you to bring a form of identification and your insurance card (if you have coverage) when you come to receive a flu vaccine.
