Perry speaks to Rotary on Campground Ministries

Nancy Perry of Campground Ministries gave a report on the nonprofit’s fundraising and awareness campaign during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month at Blackshear Rotary Club’s meeting. Campground Ministries spreads childhood cancer awareness by taking its mission to the community, and raising funds throughout the year. The group was founded in memory of Nancy’s grandson, Camp Tatum, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He left behind a legacy of love, strength and faith that inspired the creation of Campground Ministries. In two months, Perry has distributed 1,725 Camp Rocks through various community events and at area schools. The ministry supports local families navigating a cancer diagnosis, funds research hospitals such as St. Jude’s and Wolfson’s and supports other local nonprofits – Hospice Satilla and Southeast Cancer Unit. The group also participates in Hospice Satilla’s Camp Hope, a yearly grief camp for kids. During September, Perry sells gold bows to raise funds for research and families in need.
