Amvets auxiliary combats hunger

Amvets Post 621 Auxiliary recently received a grant to help combat hunger among senior citizens in the community. The women’s group distributed boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables to 75 seniors last month and delivered hot meals to 75 seniors last week. Members of the auxiliary participating in the distributions were Phyllis Poller, Veronica Hattaway, Bennie Williams, Linda Cobb, Minnie Dotson, Regina Bennett, Sheinita Bennett, Charlotte Boone, Ludeane Whitfield, Michelle Nelson, Linda McClendon, and Barbara Jordan.
