Naomi Whitehead to celebrate milestone Friday
Former Pierce Countian Naomi Washington Whitehead will celebrate her 115th birthday Friday, Sept. 26. Mrs. Whitehead was born September 26, 1910. A former resident of Patterson, she is the youngest daughter of the late Douglas and Pauline Washington. She is officially recognized as the oldest person in the United States currently. Mrs. Whitehead has many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Pierce County area who love her dearly and wish her a very happy birthday.
She currently lives in Greenville, PA. A large number of family members from Georgia and from Virginia are planning to make the trip to Pennsylvania to help her celebrate. Daniel Washington of Offerman is her oldest nephew and will be traveling to the celebration.
