PCHS Lady Bears volleyball knocks off Vidalia, SEB

Pierce County evened its season mark at .500 with victories in seven of its last eight matches following a home sweep Monday.

The Lady Bears (15-15 overall, 6-2 region) beat up on Vidalia in their first match winning 25-6, 25-12. They followed with a 25-16, 25-15 victory over Southeast Bulloch for just their fourth win against Class AAA or larger schools.

The matches were the only ones for the week after Pierce County played 10 times in seven days.

The Lady Bears next take the floor when Brunswick and Tattnall County visit Tuesday, September 23 with action to begin at 5 p.m. Appling County and Camden County come to Bearville Thursday, September 25 with the first match scheduled for 5 p.m.

PCHS travels Tuesday, September 30 to face Glynn Academy. The Lady Red Terrors and Lowndes come calling Thursday, October 2 in the home finale.

Pierce County closes out the regular season Tuesday, October 7 traveling to Brunswick to face the Lady Pirates and Ware County.

The Lady Bears are currently No. 22 in the power rankings, which includes private schools inside the Top 20. Appling County is the highest rated region member at No. 6.

Savannah Arts Academy is 20th, Crisp County is 29th, Cook is 31st and Tattall County is 43rd.

Only region champions and the next 24 highest rated teams advance to the 32team post season.
