Sheriff’s Office assists drivers ed class

Earlier this month, Pierce County Sheriff’s Lt. Brad Justice, Deputy Hunter Griffin and Deputy Blaine Mercer visited the Pierce County High School (PCHS) Drivers Education class. The officers spoke with the students about the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence. Students were able to use impaired goggles while operating a golf cart. By simulating impaired vision and coordination, these special glasses allow users to understand the risks associated with driving under the influence and other activities that require attention. The Office of the Sheriff made the message clear, they want everyone to drive sober, stay off the phone and arrive alive. Pictured above a PCHS student wearing the impaired goggles and a passenger try to safely operate a golf cart in the school parking lot.
