Georgia State University
Georgia State University (GSU) in Atlanta has announced its academic honors for summer semester 2025.
Alexis Cason and Kenan Grant, both of Blackshear, were named to the president’s list.
To be eligible for the President's List, students must have a GPA of at least 4.0 for a minimum of six semester hours of academic credit taken at GSU with no incompletes for the semester.
John Cason of Blackshear, was named to the dean’s list.
To be eligible for the dean's list, students must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.
Southern New Hampshire University
Five Pierce County students were named to the summer 2025 president’s list at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in Manchester, NH.
Students named to the list are Jeffrey Hickson, Ariel Sellers, Spencer Hughes, Sandra Maignan and Bryan Gee, all of Blackshear.
Full-time undergraduate students with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring and summer.
The Citadel
Davis Byrd of Blackshear is one of more than 500 cadets and students recognized for earning dean’s list and gold stars during the spring 2025 semester at The Citadel in Charleston, SC.
Gold stars are awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel’s dean's list.
The dean’s list is a recognition given to cadets and students who are registered for 12 or more semester hours and whose grade point average is 3.20 or higher.
Cadets who are named to the dean’s list receive a medal and a gold star, which is worn on their uniform during the semester following their academic achievement.
