Blackshear Elementary accepting nominations
Blackshear Elementary School is now accepting applications for two BES parents/households who are business owners for the 2025-2026 BES School Council. The Council meets four times per year. If you would like to nominate someone or yourself to serve a 2-year term, please apply in person at the front desk during the week of September 22-26. If more than two are interested, a vote on Tuesday, September 30 at Blackshear Elementary School. The first BES School Council meeting will take place at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, October 9.
Southern Georgia Commission meets Sept. 25 A meeting of the Southern Georgia Regional Commission Council is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25. The meeting will be held at the SGRC Valdosta Office, 1937 Carlton Adams Drive, Valdosta.
