Special to the WJH
James Renshaw, Agricultural Education Teacher at Ware County High School, was the guest speaker at a recent weekly meeting of the Waycross Exchange Club.
Roger Collins introduced Renshaw, who shared updates on the Ag Department’s plans for the current school year. Renshaw emphasized agricultural education is more than just livestock and farming — it’s a pathway to leadership, personal growth, and career success.
He also shared Ag teachers have developed a longterm goal for their FFA students — to grow connections between the school community and agriculture through strong student leadership and active involvement.
Club member Dr. Lynn Barber, Ware County Schools Superintendent and Renshaw’s father-in-law, was also present. Renshaw is married to Dr. Barbers’ daughter, Courtney, and they have a daughter, Avalynn.
