There is always a time and place for change. It is on the grounds of change that God will do His best work.
How can God outdue Himself? Very simply, when He performs a new thing or a carry-over of His promises unfolds in the next generation. The soil is ripe and ready for change.
In that place and time, and over the horizon, a formidable opponent is in place. Where the opponent is barrenness, it’s necessary for one’s spiritual eyes to be opened and fixed on the Lord.
This is where discernment is pivotal. It all boils down to one of two things; stay put or leave the place of barrenness. Be advised in this place, the only way to come out is prayerfully.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5: 16) When one comes into agreement to vacate the place of barrenness, best believe there is an appointed time for divine remembrance to render kindness. How do we recognize barrenness in our lives?
First things first, there is a mindset of being stuck. Also, no fruit is bearing in that season. Most of all the heavens are sealed, and there is no word from the Lord. In this place, only “KABOD” (the weight of God’s glory) can lift us out of the place of barrenness. After all, if God is for us, who can be against us?
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8: 28) The key is that God can use anyone. Yes, even a sinner can be used by God. He hates sin, but loves the sinner. Where one is summoned out of barrenness, we must know only love can lift us up and out.
First and foremost, it requires faith, courage, and vision. Most assuredly, without vision, people perish, for lack of knowledge.
It’s not an easy conversation piece when one is in a state of barrenness. Truly it’s a discussion to be placed at the foot of Jesus. If more discussions were had with the Father, there would be more listening than talking. It would be less of one’s business getting out.
It’s not a far-fetched idea that God listens to His children. This is something we all must glean; discretion is appropo. It’s a sound approach to not putting your business out there.
Especially when God is doing something different in one’s life. Many people won’t understand, but as we go through it, things will become clearer.
But one testified in a certain place, saying:
“What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him?” – Hebrews 2: 6
In the scriptures, David summons Mephibosheth out of Lode-bar. He showed God's kindness to bring out Jonathan’s son and King Saul’s grandson. David also kept his word to Jonathan, before his death.
You see, Jonathan showed kindness to David. Ultimately, David kept his word. Not only did David summon Mephibosheth out of Lode-bar. He also restored him all that he lost in goods, position, and power.
Who do you know where your gesture of kindness needs wheels to execute the plans of God?
This is what we (believers) tend to forget when it comes to us rendering kindness. It is certain to go a long way. Even if it means it’s for the next generation.
In my personal life, the Lord has admonished me to lead by showing kindness to people. I must admit leading with kindness is a truth we can’t escape, especially when His word is in our hearts.
