PERRY — Ware County dropped its Region 1AAAA opener here Tuesday falling 6-2 to Perry in the Lady Gators’ only game of the week.
The Lady Gators (4-12 overall, 0-1 region) lost for the ninth time in 10 games while Perry (3-8, 1-1) ended a four-game losing streak.
The Lady Gators hosted Class AA second-ranked Appling County Monday, September 15, traveled Tuesday, September 16 to Jesup for a region encounter with Wayne County, and will host Class AA top-ranked Cook Thursday, September 18 at 5 p.m.
Ware County travels Monday, September 22 to Brunswick and will host Perry Tuesday, September 23 at 4:30 p.m.

The homestanding Lady Panthers used a pair of two-run innings and scored single runs in two others over the first four innings to beat Ware County.
Perry plated two runs in the first inning against Kayleigh LeMay (6 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 1 K, 2 BB, 1 WP) and was never headed in building a 4-0 lead through the first three innings. The Lady Panthers scored on a wild pitch and a groundout.
They scored once in the second on a one-out grounder and another in the third on a run-scoring single following a leadoff double.
Ware County scored twice in the top of the fourth after loading the bases. Kallie Lairsey (1for-4) lined a leadoff single ahead of a Mattie Forsyth (1-for-3) double. A walk to Kara Coleman loaded the bases.
LeMay (1-for-3) followed with a run-scoring single cutting the margin to 4-1. Ella Musgrove was hit by a two-out pitch forcing home the second run.
Perry answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame scoring on a one-out error and a groundout.
