Guylee Washington, veteran of the United States Army, led the pledge of allegiance at the county commission’s September regular meeting. Washington is a member of the Offerman City Council and charter commander of the Pierce County AMVETS Chapter 1857. He pointed out the chapter number is the year of Pierce County’s creation. He is a member of the first graduating class of Pierce County High School. Washington (left) is presented a certificate of appreciation by Third District County Commissioner Randy Dixon.
