Dramatic new painting on bay doors honors local firefighters
The Blackshear Fire Department (BFD) got a fresh new look with an updated painting by Douglas artist Lee Mobley on their fire bay doors at the Nichols Street location. “It’s awesome,” says BFD Chief Bucky Goble. “And on the firefighter’s tail flap it says Davis to honor Leon.” Assistant Chief Leon Davis died in the line of duty during Hurricane Helene last September.
