WAYNESVILLE – Julius Lee Lassiter, 22 of Waynesville, passed away Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after a brief illness.
Born in Brunswick, Lassiter’s parents are John Lassiter and Rebecca Gail Harper Dawson. He is preceded in death by his mat ernal grandmother, Gail Cleland and his paternal grandfather, Arthur Lassiter.
Lassiter graduated from Brantley County High School and was a member of Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church. He loved talking to people which meant he never met a stranger. Lassiter loved talking about Jesus and always had a smile on his face.
He enjoyed going fishing every chance he got and putting a smile on any ones face.
Survivors include his mother, Rebecca Gail Dawson of Waynesville; his father, John Lassiter of Waynesville; his sister, Alexis Lassiter of Brantley County; a halfbrother, Brandon Petro of Brunswick; his paternal grandmother, Peggy Lassiter of Waynesville; two special cousins who were more like his brother and sister, Colby Lassiter of Illinois and Daisy Lassiter of Brantley County; an uncle, Arthur T. Lassiter of Brantley County; and also several cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
