Connie Marie Tyre

Connie Maria Tyre, 73, of Waycross, passed away Monday afternoon, September 8, 2025, at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah.
Born in Baxley January 30, 1952, she lived in Pierce and Ware Counties most of her life. She was a Blackshear High School graduate and later worked as a waitress for Huddle House prior to becoming a caregiver, a job which she loved. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 
She was a daughter of the late Isham Tyre.  She was also preceded in death by her grandparents that raised her, Tom and Nora Walker Thomas; by a grandson, Dalton Mulkey and by three sisters, Joyce E. “Rachel” Green, Nora Staines, and Cindy Rodriguez.
Survivors include her children, Rachael and Bryce Whiddon, Gibson and Chad Mulkey, Waycross; fourgrandchildren, Dylan (Katie) Mulkey, Patience (Chris) Pelly, Cassie (Luke) Davis and Mia Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Tripp Mulkey and Kole Mulkey and a third, Eliza, due in October; three sisters, Taressa (Harry) Lairsey, Brunswick, Erica Martin,  Blackshear and Betty Simpson, Logansport, IN; a brother, Richard (Mary) Riddle, Patterson and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor R. B. Gaskins officiating.
Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
