Raymond Eugene Mullaly, 80, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday night, September 7, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Jacksonville, FL March 19, 1945, he lived in Jacksonville, FL, and later Athens prior to moving to Pierce County four years ago. He was a graduate of Baldwin High School and shortly after graduating, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam conflict. He worked and later retired as a supervisor in the commercial and residential painting business. He loved to sing and play his guitar. An avid outdoorsman, he also loved animals and fishing. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
He was a son of the late Rev. Harold C. Mullaly and Margaret Lelia Kirkland Mullaly. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Deborah Barber, Esther Spivey and Sheila Graham and by a brother, David Barber.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Violet Faye Simmons Mullaly, Blackshear; his daughter, Jacqueline (Josh) Jones, Athens; a son, Raymond E. Mullaly Jr. of Jacksonville; two sisters, Sandy Barber, Starke, FL and Becky (Hank) Beasley, Blackshear; two brothers, Billy Barber of Florida and Rickey (Vanessa) Mullaly, Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Tyler, Seth, Sadie and Nate Jones and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorialization is by cremation.
