HORTENSE — Peggy Anne Bryson Harrison, 71 of Hortense, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup, following an extended illness.
Born in Forsyth, Ga., Mrs. Harrison’s parents were Erwin Bryson and Mary Berrie Bryson. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Bryson and David Bryson; and a sister, Pam Stein.
Mrs. Harrison ran a cleaning business for many years and was a member of Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, singing, laughing, and outdoor plants.
Mrs. Harrison was the head of the bereavement committee at Church and loved her family and grandchildren. She never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Harrison of Hortense; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie Ghneim (George) of Raleigh, N.C., and Cathy Paisley (Rob) of Knightdale, N.C.; three grandchildren, Isadora Ghneim, Simon Ghneim and Lucy Paisley; three brothers and sisters-inlaw, Robert Bryson (Ann), Tom Bryson (Stacey) and Dick Bryson (Sheila), all of Brunswick; three sisters and brothers- in-law, Sharon Henderson (Glynn) of Hortense, Brenda Jones (Buddy) of Brunswick and Becky McCullar of Jasper, Ala.; a cherished exchange student from Spain who became like a daughter, Dolors Sitjes Capdevila; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 1 p.m., at Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Mike Sumner, Josh Rowell, Wayne Bircham, Ron Moore, Ron Omstead and Bryan Highsmith.
Burial will be Monday, September 15, 2025 at 1 p.m., at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville; 8819 US-301.
