Waynesville men hurt after early morning wreck

ATKINSON — Two Waynesville men were hurt early Saturday morning when a vehicle rammed into a trailer hitched to a stalled vehicle.

The accident occurred at 7:23 a.m., September 6 at Georgia 520 and Hwy. 110, according to the accident report of Georgia State Patrol report of Trooper Gentry Maddox.

George Strayer, 41, was traveling east on Georgia 520 into the rising sun when he struck the trailer of of Bradley Ammons, 41.

The front of Strayer’s vehicle struck the trailer pushing it into Ammons, who was putting gas into his disabled vehicle.

Strayer’s vehicle came to a controlled rest facing east. The Ammons vehicle came to an uncontrolled rest in the south ditch of Georgia 520, facing south.

Strayer was taken to the Brunswick hospital emergency room by Brantley County EMS.

Ammons was also transported by Brantley EMS to the Brunswick hospital emergency room.
