NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Commissioners office will have a new name for the Board of Commissioners office after a motion passed to rename the building during Thursday’s county commission meeting.
The facility will now be called the Brantley County Government Annex.
The action was one of many commissioners approved during the September 4 meeting.
Commissioners approved a motion for the annual MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the UGA Extension Office.
That agenda item was followed by commissioners approving a motion to award M&M Builders of Waynesville a contract to replace exterior siding, trim, two windows and facia on the 33 Allen Road building for $34,875.
Funding will come out of the budgeted line item with remainder being paid from the Capital Projects Account.
A motion was approved to have Talbot Tennis to build and light four new pickleball courts at the Sports Complex for a total of $154,486. Funding will be paid from the 2019 SPLOST (Special Local Option Sales Tax) monies.
Commissioners approved a motion for the naming of the private easement off Murphy Road to G.W. Farms Road for 911 purposes. It will remain a private road.
A motion was approved to purchase SCAG Turf Tiger II mower from Tait's Feed and Seed in Brunswick for a price of $17,809. Funding will be out of the SPLOST 2019.
Commissioners approved a motion for the final pricing for Motorola Vesta Equipment, INDigital 911 service and call routing and MEVO services allowing off-site 911 capability for a total of $495,552.48 over the next five years.
The initial first year cost is $169,238.93. The funds are to be paid out of the Capital Project Account.
A motion was approved for an engineering review agreement with CSX for the Britt Still Road paving project in the amount of $22,000. Funding will be from SPLOST 2019.
Commissioners approved a motion for an MOU with Purdue Pharma for opioids settlement and all agreements with this settlement.
The next Brantley County commissioners work session is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7 at 6 p.m. The regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 9 at 6 p.m.
