CANEY BAY — Brantley County’s Lady Heron volleyball squad has put together a six-match surge in taking a half-game lead in the Area 3 standings.
The Lady Herons (11-13 overall, 50 Area) played three matches last week logging one win at home and two Area 3 win on the road in Savannah. BCHS downed visiting Liberty County Tuesday, September 2 in a best-of-five match winning 2516, 23-25, 25-22, 26-24.
Brantley County traveled Thursday, September 4 to Savannah for an Area 3 doubleheader against Savannah High and Savannah Classical Academy.
The Lady Herons notched a sweep in the opener against Savannah High winning 25-11, 25-13. They followed with three-set victory in Game 2 inning 25-6, 23-25, 15-7.
BCHS currently leads Savannah Christian 12-4, 4-0) by half a game in the standings. Savannah Country Day (10-2, 4-1) and St. Vincent’s (93, 4-1) are each a game back.
Brantley County traveled Tuesday, September 9 to Adel for matches against host Cook and Brooks County. The Lady Herons return to Savannah Thursday to face Class A-3A Private’s seventh-ranked Savannah Christian and Savannah Country Day in Area 3 action.
Brantley County will be at home Tuesday, September 16 hosting Cook and Ludowici’s Faith Baptist Christian Academy.
A third trip to Savannah Thursday, September 18 has the Lady Herons tangling with host St. Vincent’s and Woodville-Tompkins.
