DePratter
Leonard Ray DePratter, 68, of Blackshear, passed away Monday morning, September 1, 2025, at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Born June 5, 1957, in Blackshear, he was a 1975 graduate of Blackshear High School. He worked as a meat cutter for Red & White Grocery Store and later for Mickey’s Grocery prior to going into the construction business where he would retire from the Allen Owens Construction Company.
He loved to fish, do yardwork, and watch westerns but being with his family was by far his favorite thing to do. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold McCool DePratter and Nellie Marlene Lee DePratter Harris (Sammy).
Survivors include his daughter, Marcy Lewis, Blackshear; four sons, Anthony (Amanda) De-Pratter, Winokur, Eric (Kristy) DePratter, Vidalia, Kolby DePratter, New Orleans, LA and Wren (Jennie) DePratter, Blackshear; a sister, Arlene (Neil) Jones, Blackshear; a brother, Gary (Bobbie) DePratter, Alma; grandchildren, Wednesday (James) Lewis-Sabatier, Natalie Lewis, Holton De-Pratter, Rebecca Lewis, Gad DePratter, Rilie De-Pratter, Hadi DePratter, Ellery DePratter, Gunnar Wilson, Kiah DePratter, Hudson DePratter, Lexi DePratter and Stark De-Pratter and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A mein oria1 service was held at 11 a.m. Satu rday, Sept. 6, from the Bridge Church with Joey Davis officiating.
Memorialization was by cremation.
