PCHS volleyball swept by Statesboro, Effingham in only match

STATESBORO — Pierce County’s Lady Bears volleyball team dropped its only two matches of the week here Thursday at Statesboro High.

PCHS (8-12) was swept by the host Lady Blue Devils falling 25-18, 25-15.

The Lady Bears fell 2520, 25-13 to Effingham County in the second match.

Pierce County traveled Tuesday, September 9 to Kingsland to face Class 6A foes Camden County and Richmond Hill.

The Lady Bears, along with Pierce County Middle School, are hosting Frederica Academy starting at 4:30 p.m.

PCHS will host a Region 3-AA play date Saturday, September 13 with each team playing five best-ofthree matches. Region foes visiting Bearville are Appling County, Cook, Crisp County, Savannah Arts Academy and Tattnall County.

Pierce County heads back to Kingsland Tuesday, September 10 to face Camden County and Valdosta in the lone matches of the week.
