2-truck crash closes bridge lanes

The driver and passenger of a pickup truck complained of minor injuries Friday evening after rear-ending a tractortrailer near the Satilla River bridges on Plant Avenue, Ware County Sheriff’s Office Major Neil Skerratt said.

Shanon Wolfe, 25, of the 200 block of Bob ‘O’ Link Road was driving a Dodge Ram pickup when she collided with the rear of a Freightliner semi driver by Christopher Noah Moore, 27, of Berlin, Ga.

Both Wolfe and Luke Clayton Pittman, 28, of the 4100 block of Guest Road, complained of bruises and discomfort from the seat belts. Pittman also had possible cracked ribs.

Moore was not injured in the 6:08 p.m. accident September 5. The front end of Wolfe’s pickup was stuck to the semi’s rear end, lengthening the process of clearing the roadway, Skerratt said.

Both lanes of the bridges were blocked for a short time, he said.

Patrol Deputy Ethan Arnold investigated the wreck with the assistance of Sgt. Brandon Taylor.
