Coffee, community meetup Thursdays The Satilla Riverkeeper is sponsoring a coffee and community group meetup at 8 a.m. the second Thursday of every month at Laura S. Walker State Park.

Next meeting is September 11. Grab your favorite beverage and join others for a casual hike through the park. It’s a perfect chance to connect with neighbors, enjoy the outdoors, and get moving with others.

Registration is available by visiting https://forms.gle/NK3on kdEFYSFSnfL7. There is a $5 parking fee at the park.

Senior Dance slated Sept. 13

The Ware County Recreation Department will hold a Senior Dance from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, September 13 at the Trembling Earth Complex, 2110 Cecil Brown Drive.

Admission is $7 per person and light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 6 p.m.

DJ Fred Hand will be playing all the oldies and there will be a 50-50 raffle. Call (912) 2874488.

Satilla Democrats to meet Sept. 13 The Satilla Democrats will meet at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 13 at Stephen’s Venue, 773 Ossie Davis Parkway.

This is same location as the August meeting.

CASA has resource fair on October 14 Southeast Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocates holds a community connect resource fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 14 at C.C. McCray City Auditorium, 865 Pendleton Street.

The free event will offer family resources and support, volunteer opportunities, community partnerships and door prizes for participants

Ware GOP has meeting Monday

The Ware County Republican Party holds its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, September 15 at Hog ‘n’ Bones, 1900 Memorial Drive.

The three candidates for Waycross City Commission District 4 — Tim Peacock, Linda Slaughter-Titus and William Tompkins have been invited to speak.

OHC writer’s group has new schedule The Okefenokee Heritage Center’s OHC Writers has a new meeting schedule.

Meetings will be from 4 to 6 p.m the third Tuesday of each month. The September meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 1460 N. Augusta Avenue.

American Legion meeting Sept. 17 American Legion John S. Sutton Post 517, will hold a meeting for all Post 517 officers and members at 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Post 517 Ballroom.
