Satilla Rural Electric Membership Corporation generously contributed to Ware County’s Georgia REACH (Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen) Scholarship Program, continuing its tradition of investing in the future of the community.
The presentation of the funding was to Ware County Superintendent Dr. Lynn Barber.
“We are deeply grateful to Satilla REMC for its commitment to our students,” said Supt. Barber. “Their partnership helps us remove barriers and open doors of opportunity that can change the course of a student’s life.”
The REACH program identifies promising eighth-grade students who demonstrate academic potential and financial need.
Students are then surrounded with mentors, coaches and support through high school to help ensure their best possible academic out-come.
Ware County Schools currently has 25 REACH Scholars.
With the help of partners like Satilla REMC, these students are gaining the tools and confidence to achieve their goals and inspire others.
Upon graduation, these scholars earn a college scholarship of up to $10,000 with many Georgia colleges matching or doubling the award.
Satilla REMC’s donation helps make these scholarships possible for Ware County’s REACH Scholars.
This support ensures that local students not only dream of higher education but also have the means to pursue it.
Satilla REMC’s gift is more than a financial contribution; it is an investment in the strength and future of Ware County.
