Lois Lavonne Groover Proctor

Lois Lavonne Groover Proctor, 82, of Blackshear, passed away late Wednesday evening, September 3, 2025, at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

Born in Folkston December 15, 1942, she lived in Washington, DC for several years before moving to Pierce County in 2003. She  was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, antiques and collecting dolls. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was a daughter of the late Boaz and Willie Mae Grifin Groover.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Charles Proctor and by her brother, Larry Groover.

Survivors include her son and a daughter-in-law,  James Charles “Jimmy” and Brooke Proctor II, Murphy, TX; two sisters, Janice Groover, Folkston and Karen (George) Baron, Rosenberg, TX; two grandchildren, Kylie Raya Proctor and Nathan Stone Proctor; aunt, Edna Wallace of Franklin, TX and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, from the Shiloh Cemetery.
