McKinnon, 69, of Hoboken died Saturday morning, August 30, 2025 at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.

Mrs. McKinnon was born in Waycross to the late David Everett Waldron and Leah Mae Rigdon Waldron. She made Hoboken her home for most of her life.

She started working for JCPenney, then went on to work at a local drug store and cleaning homes before becoming an exceptional homemaker. Mrs. Mincey enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and listening to the birds.

Mrs. Mincey was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where she was a dedicated servant of the church. She taught the Children’s Two Sunday School class for many years and volunteered her time in the kitchen.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKinnon is preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Johnson; her second husband, Gary Vance McKinnon; and a granddaughter, Kayla Danielle McLeod.

Mrs. McKinnon is survived by three children, Christy McLeod and her husband Howard of Waycross, Amber Recob and her husband Stan of Winter Garden, Fla., Dana Morgan and her husband Jon of Hoboken; four grandchildren, Kyce McLeod, Ellie Morgan, Abbie Morgan, Brodie Morgan; three siblings, Janeth Hitt and her husband Bob of Thomson, Ga., Linda Dyches and her husband Joe of North Augusta, South Carolina, Kay Van Landingham and her husband Don of Brunswick; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11 a.m., at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00am on Friday.
