Planning Commission notices in compliance with state law

Public notices for planning commission public hearings have changed effective immediately.

Notices on public hearings for items to come before the planning commission will now be advertised once, but will allow more notice.

Notices will now be placed 15 days ahead of the scheduled public hearing in accordance with state law.

'During a recent state training, I discovered we had been doing it wrong,' said Planning Commission Chairman Adam Hart.

In the past, legal ads for the planning commission had been published twice prior to the hearing, but sometimes only were posted as few as five days prior to the hearing.

Five days is not sufficient notice, according to state law.

The new changes on public notices began last week with the ads on cryptocurrency and solar farms.
