Coach Herring talks football and the 3 G’s with Exchange Club

Head Coach Ryan Herring of the Pierce County Bears high school varsity football team, recently spoke to the Exchange Club of Blackshear. Program Chair Matt Gardner reported Coach Herring is now in his seventh season. His record is 72-9 overall, 27-2 in the region, with the Bears being 2020 AAA State Champs and 2023 AA State Champs. Coach Herring also has three State Weightlifting Championships, five Region Championships and he has the most wins of any coach in school history. Coach Herring says he gives God all the glory and feels very blessed to be able to coach and live in Pierce county where he feels he has a ton of support. Herring also praised his assistant coaches, saying they love the kids and coaching. He also commended his players as respectful and hard workers, the parents who show up for their children and a community who supports their team. Coach Herring said “We may not have a lot of size this year, but we have a whole lot of fight!” The coach emphasized the team mission statement which he calls the 3 G’s: “Give God Glory”.
