BEARVILLE — Pierce County Middle School’s “A” team notched a victory in its lone conference game of the week while the “B” team dropped a wild shootout to Wayne County Middle School.
The Lady Bears “A” squad turned back Long County Middle School 9-5 in Southeast Georgia Middle School Athletic Conference action Monday, August 25. The “B” squad fell 18-10 Thursday, August 28.
The “A” team goes to Waycross Middle School Thursday, September 4 for its lone game of the week.

PCMS spotted the Lady Wildcats an early 3-0 before rallying for the victory.
Long Middle scored three runs in the first against London Sweet (1 IP, 3 H,3 R, 0 ER, 0 K, 0 BB, 1 WP) .
The Lady Bears responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning getting a game-tying two-run homer to left from Skylar Whitaker (1-for-3).
Pierce Middle followed with a three-run second to claim a 6-3 lead. The Lady Wildcats cut the lead to 6-4 in the third.
PCMS responded with two runs in the third and added an insurance run in the sixth. The Lady Wildcats plated a seventh inning run on a one-out single.

Wayne Middle scored 12 runs over the final two innings overcoming an 8-6 deficit en route to rallying past the Lady Bears.
PCMS scored three runs in the first on a run-scoring groundout. The Lady Yellow Jackets cut the lead to 3-1 in the second inning.
Pierce Middle answered with Kaylee Groover (3-for-5) recording an inside-the-park homer for a 4-1 advantage. An inside-the-park grand slam put the visitors in front 6-5.
