NAHUNTA — A Waynesville man was taken into custody following a traffic stop Monday, August 25.
Dusty James Little, 43, of Waynesville, was stopped by the Georgia State Patrol for a traffic violation at approximately 8 p.m. The GSP trooper requested assistance from the Nahunta Police Department’s Crime Suppression and Intelligence Unit (CSIU) with Detective Larry Champion responded to the scene.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the discovery of a small amount of personal- use marijuana, methamphetamine and a firearm.
“This is another example of our strong partnership with the Georgia State Patrol,” said Nahunta Police Chief Brad Todd. “Driving on our roadways while under the influence or in possession of illegal drugs is unacceptable. Our CSIU detectives, K-9 Unit, and the Georgia State Patrol will continue to proactively patrol the streets of Nahunta to ensure that our families and visitors can travel safely.”
Little was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
Detective Champion is the case agent and will be overseeing the investigation.
