CANEY BAY — Brantley County High School was named a Friday Night 5G Lights $5,000 sweepstakes winner.

The presentation from T-Mobile officials was made during Friday night’s non-region home game against Class AA second-ranked Pierce County.

T-Mobile kicked off its inaugural Friday Night 5G Lights in 2024 to give small towns across the United States the 5G advantage. This year, the company is giving schools more chances to win.

A total of 450 schools will be awarded $5,000 each as part of the $5K Fridays sweepstakes. Schools are automatically entered into the sweepstakes after an application is submitted.

Friday Night 5G Lights is more than a contest. It’s a multimillion-dollar nationwide movement to fuel school pride, performance and possibility. Friday Night 5G Lights is a T-Mobile program that supports small towns by giving high schools a chance to showcase their spirit and compete for a game-changing football field upgrade.

T-Mobile launched the program last year to celebrate the strong community bonds found in small towns — especially around high school football — by enhancing the game-day experience and helping these communities shine.

Last season, nearly 1,750 high schools from all 50 states brought unmatched energy and creativity, rallying their communities and the nation.

“Last year, we saw what happens when small towns get the spotlight they deserve, and the response blew us away,” said Jon Freier, President, T-Mobile Consumer Group. “So this year, we’re turning it up. We’re shining a bigger spotlight with Friday Night 5G Lights so more communities can share what makes them special and get the support they need to bring their vision to life.”

This year’s competition is putting over $4 million in total prizes on the line.
