Ware County split two games winning at home and falling on the road in matchups with Glynn County foes.
The Lady Gators (3-5) posted a third consecutive victory Tuesday, August 19 knocking off visiting Brunswick (5-2) 14-3 via the “mercy rule” in five innings.
Homestanding Glynn Academy (72) notched a third straight victory Wednesday, August 20 winning 9-0 in five innings at home over the Lady Gators.
Ware County traveled Monday, August 25 to Kingsland to face Camden County in a varsity/jayvee twinbill. The Lady Gators wrap up their three-game road trip today (Wednesday, August 27) going to Ludowici to face Long County.
They close out the three-game schedule Thursday, August 28 hosting Glynn Academy on Senior Night.
Brantley County visits Thursday, September 4 for a varsity/jayvee doubleheader. The Lady Gators head to Columbus to play three games Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6 in the Northside Invitational.

Ware County exploded for a seasonhigh 14 runs getting a six-run first inning and a seven-run fourth inning in beating up on the Lady Pirates.
The Lady Gators batted around in the first inning sending 12 batters to the plate. They recorded four hits, drew three walks and had two batters hit.
Ashlyn Jacobs (1-for-1) followed Ella Musgrove’s (1-for-3) leadoff single with a run-scoring triple. After a fourpitch walk to Amberley Padgett (1-for-2), Jacobs stole home on the front end of a double steal for a 2-0 lead.
Kallie Lairsey was hit by a pitch and stole second following Padgett’s theft of third. A groundout by Mattie Forsyth (1-for-4) plated Padgett for a 3-0 advantage.
Following a wild pitch to score Lairsey, Kara Coleman (2-for-3) ripped a triple down the right field line. Cassidy Lee (2-for-3) followed the second out of the inning with a run-scoring single extending the margin to 5-0.
A walk to Mattie McQuaig and Musgrove loaded the bases. Jacobs followed with a walk forcing home Lee with the final run of the inning.
Brunswick scored its three runs in the top of the third inning cutting the lead in half to 6-3 against Forsyth (5 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 1 K, 0 BB). The Lady Pirates scored on a bases loaded groundout and two runs on a throwing error.
Ware County responded with a run in the bottom of the inning pushing the lead to 7-3. Musgrove reached on a one-out fielder’s choice and moved around to third on a pair of wild pitches. Padgett’s two-out single scored Musgrove.
The Lady Gators sent 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fourth scoring seven times to open up a 14-3 lead. Lee followed a walk to Coleman with a run-scoring triple. After McQuaig was hit one pitch later, Lee raced home when Musgrove’s fly ball to left was misplayed into a two-base error as the margin grew to 10-3.
Both McQuaig and Musgrove scored on passed balls as did Jacobs, who reached on a walk swelling the advantage to 13-3. Padgett, who followed Jacobs with a walk, scored the final run on a groundout by Forsyth.

BRUNSWICK — The Lady Red Terrors scored the only run it would need in the first inning in ending Ware County’s three-game winning streak.
Consecutive one-out singles in the first inning gave Glynn Academy a 1-0 advantage.
The Lady Red Terrors blew the game open in the second inning sending 10 batters to the plate in scoring six runs. Glynn Academy registered seven of its 11 hits in the frame with the first six batters reaching in chasing Forsyth (1+ IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 K, 0 BB, 1 HBP, 1 WP).
Glynn Academy finished off the scoring with two runs in the fourth inning.
Ware County had four batters reach. Jacobs (2-for-2) lined a one-out single in the first inning and leadoff double in the fourth ending a string of eight consecutive batters retired. Dara Durrance (1-for-1) laced a two-out double in the fifth with Lee following with a walk.
