ATKINSON — One person was injured when a FedEx truck and another vehicle wrecked along Hwy. 82 near Hwy. 110 Monday, August 18.
Mason Tyler Bodenhammer of Waycross was traveling east on Hwy. 82 in his 2019 Ford F59 FedEx truck in the right lane of travel at approximately 9:47 a.m.
Bodenhammer was traveling behind Brandon Carl Lowe of Brunswick, who was also headed east. Lowe was driving a 2010 GMC Yukon in the inside line.
According to the report of Georgia State Patrol Corp. Max Webb, Bodenhammer stated he fell asleep at the wheel of his 2019 Ford F59 and struck the 2010 GMC Yukon in its left rear quarter panel with its front right fender causing both to rotate.
The FedEx truck would end up rolling on its side.
Bodenhammer did not require treatment. Lowe was transported to Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
