Brantley County’s volleyball Lady Herons participated in 11 matches in their busiest week of the young season.
BCHS (4-11) traveled Monday, August 18 to Ludowici to face host Long County and Tattnall County with both matches going to a 15-point third set.
The Lady Herons fell 25-8, 16-25, 15-13 to the Lady Warriors. The loss followed a pair of 2-0 victories August 11 at Tattnall County and August 12 at home to start the season.
The Lady Blue Tide downed BCHS 25-15, 1525, 15-9 in the finale.
Brantley County traveled Tuesday, August 19 to Jesup to square off with Appling County and host Wayne County.
The Lady Herons fell 25-17, 25-19 to the Lady Pirates in the opener. No score was reported for the matchup with the Lady Yellow Jackets. Wayne County won the August 14 meeting with BCHS with a 2-0 decision.
Brantley County, along with Appling County, helped homestanding Pierce County re-open the old Bears Den at the site of old PCHS Thursday, August 21.
The Lady Herons dropped a pair of 25-13 decisions in the matchup with the Lady Bears.

Pierce County notched a 2-0 victory August 12 in Caney Bay.
Appling County also swept BCHS winning 2511, 25-19 to finish off the season sweep.
BCHS beat Highland Christian Academy Saturday, August 23 during tournament play overcoming a one-set deficit. After falling 25-22, the Lady Herons bounced back winning 25-22, 1513.
Region foe Thomasville followed with a sweep winning 25-6, 25-12. Cook High then handed the Lady Herons a three-set loss winning 25-12, 22-25, 16-14.
Brantley County hosted Bradwell Institute and Long County Monday, August 25. The Lady Herons opened Area 3 play Tuesday, August 26 in Pembroke with matches against Bryan County and Vidalia.
Bryan County and McIntosh County Academy visit Caney Bay Thursday, August 28 in a pair of Area 3 matches. Liberty County comes to town Tuesday, September 2 followed by Area 3 members Savannah and Savannah Classical Academy Thursday, September 4.
